Lydia Jacobs is an artist based out of Charlottesville, Va. She studied studio art and photography at James Madison University and graduated in 2016. Starting out as an abstract painter she slowly began to investigate new mediums and subjects. Her artwork is heavily inspired by the raw beauty of nature which she is immersed in daily as a full time gardener
This body of work was inspired by the lifelong dream of being a portrait artist. As it is quite possibly the scariest art form to me I never attempted to learn. In 2023 I made it my goal to learn how to draw and paint portraits. This is a look into my learning process.
